This outstanding example is complete and has wonderful detail throughout. Preserved in a small ironstone nodule, there hasn't been many discovered better than this specimen. This Ixiphosuran is approximately 320 million years old. Carboniferous fossils of this calibre are becoming incredibly scarce, especially from this world famous locality, which was backfilled some 25 years ago. This tremendous fossil was discovered in 1995 and will make a serious addition to the discerning collector. It resided in the late Professor GORDON WALKDEN collection. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
