description |
|
An incredibly rare dermal scute from around the tail area of this south coast dinosaur. The texture on the bone is magnificent, especially under a hand lens. This scute was discovered in 1991 and extracted from a small limestone nodule using acetic acid. The scute is virtually complete. One for the serious collector of exceptionally rare English fossils. Approximately 200 million years old. This specimen has resided since it's discovery in the late GORDON WALKDEN collection. |
