description
This treble brittlestar fossil was discovered in 1949 and until 1970 resided in a small private museum in Portsmouth. In 1970 it was purchased by the late GORDON WALKDEN and resided in his collection until now. The specimen has not been re-prepared, but left natural to show preparation skills in the mid part of the last century, very basic. There has been a repair throughout the rock, but cannot be seen on the brittlestar side. Overall this fossil will make an important addition for the collector of old collection pieces from England. There is a calcite vein running through the rock. Approximately 195 million years old.
