Asteracanthus is an extinct genus of shark. This wonderful example has an ornamented surface and shiny patina. The crushing tooth of this hybodant shark lies in a small piece of oolithic limestone. It was discovered in 1974 and resided in the late GORDON WALKDEN collection.Approximately 166 million years old. One for the discerning collector.
