description
This partial living chamber from a Pictonia baylei ammonite has an amazing natural irridescent sheen on both sides, quite stunning colours. On one side of the ammonite whorl is an indentation which is a perfect match with an ichthyosaur tooth, the shell has been crushed down around the indentation. One for the collector of predatory attack marks on ammonites. This important specimen resided in the late professor GORDON WALKDEN collection. Approximately 159 million years old.
