description |

This magnificent chalk fish fossil was part of a large number of geological items sold by ETON COLLEGE in 1996. The specimen was discovered circa 1860 and ended up in Eton college. The detail on the bones are absolutely exquisite and a classic example of a one off fossil. Serious collectors will appreciate how wonderfully rare this chalk fish is and also its provenance coming from Eton College. It has resided in the late GORDON WALKDEN collection ever since its sale by Eton college. A real piece of English history is tied up with this superb fossil. |
