description |
|
This classic Eocene pearlescent nautilus was discovered in 1984 and has resided ever since in the late GORDON WALKDEN collection. Specimens of this size rarely are found at this locality. The nautilus hasn't been touched in any way, it's just as found all those decades ago. This nautilus was discovered within a septarian nodule, and it still retains most of its original shell, preserved here as a thin layers of white mother of pearl nacre. An important addition for the collector of English fossil nautilus. |
