description
This is a classic rarity from the Red Crag deposits. The preservation and patina is typical of the Red Crag. Whales have distinctive tympanic (ear) bones, in Baleen whales these actually resemble a large ear. These inner ear bones from this locality are becoming incredibly difficult to obtain thesedays. This wonderful and complete specimen was from an old museum collection and w3as discovered in 1938. It has resided in the late GORDON WALKDEN collection. One for the serious collector.
