  The detail on this leaf's surface under a hand lens is magnificent. The specimen itself was discovered by Andy Cowap in 1987. This incredibly rare partial leaf may never have been described before as oolithic plant material is incredibly rare. If not collected, this fossil would have been destroyed by the sea. A real collectors piece for the enthusiastic plant collector. Approximately 125 million years old.

  This example has been attached to an ammonite (Psiloceras planorbis), taken the ammonite's form and then dropped off. The oyster has been preserved in hard shale which has been shaped. A very interesting study fossil which is approximately 208 million years old.
