Click to enlarge   Name Normannites cf densus (Superb lappet)
  ref AMM5148
A lovely example which was collected in 1982 from a locality which is has no longer been accessible to the collector since 1996. Repaired one side only, the ammonite's lappet is magnificent and complete. The specimen has been prepared on a chunk of oolithic rock which has a flat base for upright display. A really nice small display piece for the collector. The ammonite has a good centre and Normanites with lappets are very rare to find intact. They are the microconch to the Stephanoceras, the larger Stephanoceras being the female or Macroconch. Approximately 170 million years old.
