Click to enlarge   Name Caloceras intermedium (Very rare multi)
  ref AMM4957
This incredibly rare multi Caloceras specimen has been prepared by Andy Cowap and has taken many hours. This fossil was discovered way back in 1968, most of the Planorbis bed from this locality doesn't exist today due to erosion and what does remain has been protected, hence the rarity. All four ammonites lie on a small shaped piece of limestone and have been preserved in solid calcite. This lias outcrop at Antrim is the most Westerly in Europe and is approximately 208 million years old. A real collectors piece which is a total one off. At Fossils Direct we are constantly striving to bring to our customers old and new, the very finest prepared fossil material from around the United Kingdom.

  ref AMM4954
Described by SPATH in the 1930's, this beautifully preserved ammonite has an immaculate centre and lies within a small irregular limestone concreation which remarkably is just larger than the ammonite. This nodule derives from the Green ammonite Beds which stretch to Golden Cap from halfway along Stonebarrow. This nodule has not been altered and would suit a collector who prefers it natural as in this case. Approximately 189 million years old.
