  This wonderful ammonite has been preserved with all its original shell intact. The beautiful dark green colour is Chamasite. These Scunthorpe ammonites are highly prized by collectors worldwide and the quarry which this ammonite came out of in 1991 has been backfilled some 20 years ago. The very centre of the ammonite hasn't been preserved but that is normal preservation for this locality. The matrix is also highly aesthetic and has a flat base for upright display. A lovely and unique display fossil for either the home or indeed office space. Approximately 200 million years old. Prepared by Andy Cowap.
