This large example has been preserved in solid pyrite and has lovely detail. The specimen was collected in 1973 and the locality which yielded the ammonite has now been backfilled and so these Oxfordian ammonites are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. One for the serious collector. Approximately 165 million years old.
A very good specimen which has been preserved in solid calcite and is completely matrix free. Most of the localities around this area are no longer accessible to collect these wonderful ammonites. Approximately 180 million years old.
