  We at Fossils Direct are very proud to offer this superb, very large, piece of ichthyosaur from the world famous locality of Street. It is almost impossible to obtain material from this locality nowadays. This specimen consists of vertebrae which have been naturally halved and crystals are growing in between each vertebrae. The ribcage is wonderful and has part of its last meal preserved as black organic material which in itself is exceptionally rare!! This is a piece for the serious collector and would make a magnificent display specimen or centre piece. This specimen comes with a perspex stand, emabling easy display.   This specimen was discovered in the early 1970's and was trawled up in the Solent, the stretch of water between Southampton and the Isle of Wight. This specimen Palaeoloxdon, is a straight tusked extinct elephant which lived some 50,000 years ago. The specimen found its way into the sea when a Tsunami event happened some 8000 years ago and separated the Isle of Wight from the mainland. The specimen has been presented on a bespoke oak stand to enable it to be displayed to its full potential. An amazing piece for either the interior or office space and a good conversation piece from this extinct animal. Super sized images can be viewed in "Showcase Fossils".   Preserved in a large limestone block is this superb and highly decorative nautilus specimen. The specimen was discovered in a rock fall at the world famous Jurassic Coast of Lyme Regis. This specimen would make a great focal point for the collector or indeed would grace any interior setting. The specimen is approximately 205 million years old.
