Wren's Nest is probably the most famous of all Silurian deposits in the world and specimens from this classic locality are highly sought after by collectors. This is a stunning, three dimensional crinoid head that has been preserved in solid calcite and has been beautifully prepared by using air abrasive techniques. The arms are quite exquisite. Specimens of this quality are not found anymore. This one coming from an old collection. A stunning addition to any fossil collection.
This specimen of a crinoid crown has been preserved three dimensionally and consists of a lovely calyx with the attached arms. Specimens of this type are now only found in old collections, as unfortunately these cannot be found anymore. Wren's Net is probably the most famous Silurian locality on the planet and fossils are highly prized.
A lovely and complete segment from the head section of this extremely rare crinoid. The specimen was discovered during a temporary excavation in 1968 and has reamined in the same collection ever since. A good drawer fossil for the collector.
Specimens of fossil crinoids are becoming scarce on the Jurassic coast. This particular specimen has been broken and repaired, as is quite often the case with these crinoids. The specimen has a partial crown and a wonderful stem with exquisitely detailed cirri. A fine specimen from this world famous classic locality.
