  A beautiful piece of original Marston Marble which exhibits a main ammonite (Asteroceras blakei) and many smaller ones (Promicroceras planicosta). The surface has been ground gem smooth and finally a high polish applied to reveal beautiful colours and detail within the cross-section of the ammonites. Until a new locality is discovered, there will be very little of this iconic material left. Approximately 200 million years old.

  This stunning piece of marble has been ground gem smooth on all sides and finally a high polish applied to reveal wonderful detail and colours within each ammonite(Promicroceras planicosta). This specimen would fit into any collection. Grade A marble is exremely rare material. Discovered in 2002 at greath depth from a temporary exposure, and no more wil be found until a new locality is discovered. Approximately 200 million years old. A Liassic phenomenon!!
