  This huge and perfect vertebra is from the largest of the ichthyosaurs. Skeletons have been discovered from this world famous locality which measure 40ft plus in length, the skull alone can be as much as 7ft in length.The vertebra itself has been fuly prepared as half of it was enclosed in a limestone nodule. Its very rare that a vertebra of this size and quality comes on to the open market for sale, and certainly one for the serious collector. Discovered in 2000 ater a small mudslide at the back of Black Ven. Approximately 200 million years old. Always check with your supplier with regard to any restoration or repair to any fossil if not mentioned in their description of the item for sale, as we at Fossils Direct have noticed a marked increase in these practises. Please be aware!!!
