This magnificent single antler is approximately 50,000 years old and is rare from Bricket Wood quarry. Analysis of oxygen isotopes in fossil teeth from red deer suggests that they migrated seasonally, which may have driven the movements of the Palaeolithic hunter-gatherers that ate them for sustenance. The antler itself has wonderful patina and incredible detail throughout and would make a unique display piece either in the home or indeed office space. This inland quarry has long since been backfilled and the antler was collected in 1972.
