description
This tooth belonged to one of the largest mammals ever to walk the earth, a straight tusked elephant. It's an extinct species of elephant that inhabited Europe during the middle to late Pleistocene. This is a very rare find for Bricket Wood gravel quarry and was discovered in 1972. Bricket Wood fossils have a very distinctive orange/brown colour and not confused with North Sea deposits or other Pleistocene deposits abroad. The tooth will make a really aesthetic and unique piece for the collector or indeed an interior designer. Approximately 50,000 years old.
