description
From an old collection comes this super rare tooth from a cave deposit which was originally excavated in 1885 and the site was famous for the remains of wooly mammoth, rhino and early flint tools. This site is of international significance as it has been confirmed as being the last occupied European site of Neanderthals before their extinction. The specimen was found by P.P. Pennant and has resided in the collection until now. Again, a wonderful fossil and a wonderful piece of history.
