Megalichthys is a genus of prehistoric lobe finned fish which lived during the carboniferous period. It is the type genus of the family Megalichthyidae. The tooth itself is absolutely perfect and lies on a piece of hard oil shale which was discovered in 1970 and has remained in the same collection ever since. One for the serious collector.
